Take a look at the new Osight R, the company’s first rifle reflex sight!
Osight has been making pistol red dots for a while now, but the company has just taken its first foray into rifle optics with the new Osight R. It was designed with close-to-mid-range engagements in mind, whether that be for training, self-defense, hunting, competition, or tactical applications.
The Osight R has a large 1.10”x0.87” viewing window with advanced multi-coated lenses that should provide a wide, clear sight picture for rapid engagement and target transitions. As for its reticle, you can switch between a 2-MOA red dot for more precise shooting, a 65-MOA circle, or a combination of both. It has a total of 12 brightness settings, 9 daylight and 3 night vision, and a quick-access NV button for rapidly switching between modes.
To conserve battery life, the optic will power off after 3 minutes of inactivity and reactivate once it detects even slight movement. Once the battery does drop low enough, the reticle will triple-flash once per minute to alert the user. Also, once the Osight R is activated, it will automatically default to the last selected brightness level. Osight says that the 2-MOA dot on brightness level 5 can last 83,000 hours.
The Osight R is rugged, too, thanks to its 7075-T6 aluminum construction and IPX8 waterproof rating. The lenses can be further protected by the glass fiber reinforced polyamide Protective Lens Cover System. The covers are removable, and the front one can also be replaced with the included anti-reflective device (ARD) to help reduce glare.
As for mounting the Osight R, it uses the Micro T1/T2 footprint and ships with a lower 1/3 co-witness mount. Customers who purchase an Osight R from the official Osight Amazon store between September 21st and October 25th will receive a free 1.93” high mount as well (must be manually added to cart).
Each Osight R ships with a lower 1/3 co-witness mount, an adjustment tool, 6 mounting screws, 2 protective cover lenses, an anti-reflective device, a cleaning cloth, a user manual, an Osight sticker, and the necessary CR2032 battery to power the optic. MSRP is $279.99.
